Arrangements for the holidays

We will be open for collection of orders as usual on 17th December and will take orders for our next opening on 7th January.  As Village Veg will not deliver again until the 14th, we will only have Huson Produce (veg or fruit or mixed) dilivered on 7th Jan.  We are back to normal on 14th Jan.

Lunchtime Fridays

Don't forget to come to the Quaker's Meeting house in Dean St (right by the Octagon) between 1230 and 2pm on Friday to collect your order and make another order for the following Friday (or even the next Friday but one).

We struggle a bit when customers forget to collect orders as we do not like to see you disappointed, especially as the order is pre-paid.  We are now sending out a text message to remind customers on Thursdays.  So if you are not getting a reminder but would like one, just request one by sending your mobile number to me at shaw@sarvari-trust.org

We could use a bit of help to prepare the bags on Fridays at 12 noon or anytime 12 - 2pm.  Come and join in the fun but do let me know at the e-address above if you want to volunteer .

Cheers
David

Thursday 4 November 2010

We are growing, but slowly.

We have found that several of our customers have forgotten to collect the veg they ordered.  So that we can help you to remember, send us an e-mail and we will remind you on a Thurday evening or Friday morning.
Send your e-mail to shaw@sarvari-trust.org

Please tell your friends and neighbours about our co-op.  We know that lots of people still have not heard about us.

See you at the Quaker Meeting House tomorrow from 12130h until 2p.m.

Students are back in town: they will need fruit and veg to keep healthy

Our food co-op, based at the Quaker Meeting House in Dean St., Bangor (Fridays 1230 - 1400h) already has many students as customers.  We would like to extend a welcome to students who have just learned about our co-op and just what good value it is (at £3 per box/bag).  We are working to have a new location for the co-oop within the univsersity to  make it easier for students and staff to pick up their produce.

If you have even half-an-hour to spare between 12 and 2pm on Fridays do come and help us make up the boxes and distribute them to our customers. Offers from volunteers can e-mail me at shaw@sarvari-trust.org.

For more details on how the scheme work, refer to earlier blogs.

Change of Opening Time

We (the volunteers) would like to change our opening times on Fridays.  We suggest the following:

Open:  1230p.m.

Close:  2.00p.m.

If you anticipate problems with these new times, please let us know

We intend to change over to the new times on the 17th of September.

If you could spare half an hour on a Friday, please let us know as we are short of volunteers to make up the bags.

Orders for collection this Friday 20th

We are pleased to say that our fruit and veg co-op is growing steadily.

In addition to the usual boxes/bags of veg or salad or fruit or mixed, we should have what you might call glut bags.  These are bags of veg which the growers are producing in quantity.  These can be seen on Friday and you can take one (or more) and leave a reasonable donation which will go straight back to the grower.

There should be bags of organic onions and organic potatoes, both grown locally.

Tell your fiends about the great value for money of our boxes and the feshness of the produce

Village Veg joins in

We had our first delivery from Village Veg of Waunfawr last Friday of a Veg box for £3 and a Salad box for £3.  Alan Huson from Hawarden continues to supply four kind of box, each costing £3.  That is Veg, Salad, Fruit and a Mixed box.

Anyone able to help should turn up at 12.30pm on Friday to assist us in making up the boxes (actually bags).

We can cope with more customers so tell your friends to come and order next Friday  (1.00 - 3p.m.) and/or pick up produce ordered last week.
