Launch of a Fruit and Veg Co-op for Bangor

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new "veggie box" scheme for Bangor.  Anyone can join in.  Just come to the Quaker Meeting House in Dean Street on Fridays between 1 and 3 pm and order what you want.  You can have a vegetable "box" £3, a fruit "box" £3, a salad "box" £3 or a mixed box for £3.

The way it works is that you order and pay for the food a week in advance of when you want to collect it (same place same times).  The food is of high quality and very good value.  It is grown by Huson Farm Produce in Hawarden in NE Wales but we hope to have produce form more local growers soon.

If you go on holiday or if you find the quantity is too much to eat in one week, you do not need to order until you want to start again.

The scheme is organised with the help of the Rural Regeneration Unit funded by the Welsh Assembly Government. (June Jones, Gweithwraig Datblygu Bwyd/Food Development Worker 01766 890 637)

The food is delivered to Bangor in bulk and has to be sorted into bags of £3 worth.  So we need volunteers!
PLEASE TELL US IF YOU COULD SPEND AN HOUR NOW AND AGAIN TO HELP WITH THE SORTING.  THE MORE WHO VOLUNTEER THE SHORTER THE TIME YOU WILL BE NEEDED.

Please tell your friends about this new source of fresh and tasty produce.

For enquiries and offers to volunteer please contact David Shaw, 01248 364260 and shaw@sarvari-trust.org
